Caramelised Pecans (or Walnuts)

For an easy (healthy & thoughtful) gift or a delicious treat to add to recipes, decorating sweet treats or to have on standby, this recipe using just 5 ingredients (or less) is quick and easy and super rewarding to make – that’s if they last long!

Candied Pecans
Preparation:  5  minutes

Cooking:  approx. 15 minutes

Quantity:  2 cups

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups pecans (or any nuts you enjoy)
  • Pinch of good quality salt
  • 2 Tbsp maple syrup or sweetener of choice
  • 1 tsp cinnamon
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Directions:

  1. pre heat oven to 150C
  2. Add all the ingredients into a mixing bowl & gently mix until pecans are well covered.
  3. Place nuts onto a baking sheet & oven tray & put into the pre heated oven.
  4. Leave to bake for about 15 mins or until they turn a rich golden colour.
  5. Allow them to cool and go deliciously crunchy.

Enjoy yourself as a sweet treat, as a condiment or delicious addition to  salads or package up as a thoughtful gift.
