Quick And Delicious
Kale Chips
August 23, 2013

Kale is the King of greens.  Nutrient rich in a whole range of minerals necessary for our wellbeing and Kale Chips is one of our favourite Kale recipes – it  is a family favourite. The only problem with them is they don’t last long enough!   Our 8 year old daughter now loves making her own and has been known to make them before school to pack into their school bags for a snack.   They are that quick and easy to make.

Prep Time: 5 minutes

Cooking Time:  10 minutes

Yields:  10 bit size servings

Kale Chips
Ingredients:

  • 1 to 2 bunches Kale
  • Olive Oil
  • Sea salt

Directions:

  • Preheat oven to 160 degrees
  • Remove Kale from stalk, leaving the greens in large pieces, place in a bowl.
  • Pour over the kale a little olive oil & sprinkle of sea salt (you don’t need much).  Rub the oil and salt gently onto the kale leaves.
  • Place the Kale onto a baking tray and bake for 10 – 15 minutes or until it starts to turn just golden brown.  Keep an eye on it as it can burn quickly.
  • Remove and serve as a great, nutritious snack or side dish.

Variations:

  • Try different kinds of kale or collard greens.
  • For added flavour sprinkle with a little crushed garlic or spice, such as curry or cumin after rubbing on the olive oil.
