Paleo Lemon Icing or Frosting

A super simple recipe for a delicious healthy icing to match any citrusy sensation.  

Pop all the ingredients in the blender or food processor, whizz it up, and that’s it!  Enjoy.

Preparation:  5 minutes

Serves:  approx. 1.5 cups

Paleo Lemon Icing or Frosting

  • 1 cup firm coconut oil (unmelted)
  • 1/2 cup raw, unfiltered honey
  • 1/3 cup coconut milk
  • 1/4 cup coconut flour
  • 1/4 cup lemon juice (taste the mix and add more if preferred)


  • Add all the ingredients to a blender, thermomix or food processor and mix until blended and smooth.
  • If the mix is too moist add extra coconut flour or if it’s too dry or stiff, add a bit of extra coconut milk.
  • Make sure your cake is cool.
  • Then ice the cake or cupcakes and enjoy it straight away or keep in the fridge until ready.


  • Keep cool otherwise the icing will begin to melt.
  • Top the cake with lemon or lime zest and/or shredded coconut for decoration if you like.
